Why would I want to tweet via goCougar?

Tweets sent out via goCouar appear on our Twitter page and people who find them interesting start following our updates (tweets). If other Twitter members find the tweets intriguing enough they may join goCougar and become part of the community. So basically, we're asking for your help in spreading the word about goCougar and all the amazing people that make up this community by telling the world what's on your mind once or twice or more a day...

What is Twitter?

Twitter is a micro blogging site that allows posts that are no longer than 140 characters in length. Twitter is a free service that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

How do I tweet via goCougar?

You can now send out tweets directly from goCougar. Simply enter a short message in tweet box above the Member's menu and it will appear in the tweet window in the footer of the site. The tweet window can be opened in a separate window. Optionally, you can also have your tweets sent to your Twitter account by clicking on "options" and then entering your Twitter username & password.

Don't want to use your own Twitter account?

That's ok! Simply tweet away to your heart's content and all your tweets will be sent to the goCougar Twitter account only.

Is the tweet system integrated with the block system?

We have now integrated the tweet system with the block system so you will no longer see tweets from members you dislike.

Can I disable the tweet system?

Yes you can, but we hope you don't... By simply sending a few tweets a day you will help goCougar become more popular on Twitter and that will attract even more people to the site. However, if you don't want to help by sending the odd message or two then you can disable the tweet system for your account by clicking MODIFY PROFILE -> Settings tab -> Tweets -> OFF.

Why did we integrate Twitter into goCougar?

We simply hope member tweets via Twitter will help attract more like minded people to goCougar, which will of course benefit the whole community.

Please note that if you send out tweets via your Twitter account (optional) they will be tagged as originating from goCougar.
