Default What

happens is you can find posts on the forums by putting the person's user name into google search but a person's user name on the forums is not the same as their goC profile names. That's the reason why you can't find them on goC. I don't understand why they have it set up this way to me it causes a lot of confusion and frustration for members who would really like to check out the person's profile. You can post your goC name on your forum posts I am pretty sure Clark explained how to do it on here somewhere.

Thanks for the information, clark.

However, that's just a make-do patch on the fundamental problems, which are:
- a Forum member must personally take this action (it isn't automatic and so the probability of having this information available for every member who posts is greatly reduced)

- once it's accomplished (IF it gets done at all!), it's still very inconvenient because you can't directly click on this to see the user's profile.

The end result is that the people who participate in the Forums -who are often the most intriguing because they're willing and interested in talking about ideas, and so we get a better idea of their mentality and attitude- are also the most difficult for profile viewing because we have to jump through hoops to read more about them.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with whoever described the GC Forum as rather user-unfriendly, which is a real pity considering how pleasant and active the rest of the site is!

Lunamor
