Default Backed out of meeting somebody

Oh no! I have backed out of meeting a guy from here, we mailed, sent texts to each other and called. I backed out of meeting him!

Maybe I should take a break from here for a couple of months?

I feel like a total wuss. Especially as a friend likes the look of him, and she isn't even registered on this site! God damn it!!!!

She suggested that we google him, and check him out on fb etc which we did, she thinks that he is really hot!!!!! I think that she may even register on here to try to meet him.

Anyone else ever backed out of meeting somebody?

No there was absolutely nothing wrong with him, well as far as I could make out, haven't done anything like this before, so it was my fault. Feel bad about it.

Might ask him to bring a friend along for my friend she has done this before, speed dating etc.

Really! Hadn't realized that it's a man probelm, "them "not turning up! Thought thatn it would be a woman problem, backing out of meeting a guy.

I did the same thing, honey. Guy caught me on a "down" day, and I just wasn't up to it. Then he was so nice about it, I immediately regretted it and tried to make the date, but he'd already changed his plans. I say, pick a safe place, at least meet and see if there's any chemistry, and then you can stay...or go. You'd be surprised at how nice a lot of these guys are, even if they say they're only in it for you know what. I'll keep the date next time!

Don't feel bad.

I agree with cougarmom. Meet in a public place like a coffee shop. I usually even don't call that a first date. It's a pre-date. Because all you have really done is chatted online or phone... why invest in a 60-100 meal/evening even if you go dutch. Make the subsequent meeting special then.

As far as cold feet... I have had off days and felt like cancelling but pushed myself and had a wonderful time. I have had women just "no-show".. which is hurtful. I'd rather get a call that she's too nervous.. and I'd understand.

Good luck!
hope he gives you a 2nd.

I'd never back out on someone....it seems like I am scaring them away or something though.
I'm getting the "I'm so confused" a lot lately...*sigh*
Wish people knew what they wanted....I mean really...

isobella: As a man, I don't like being "backed out". Nobody likes. So my humble advice for for talking with him now is: a painful truth is better than a sweet lie.
