As has been mentioned, a cougar is a woman who prefers younger men. Going out on one date with a younger guy doesn't equate to being a cougar.

You said yourself that you have never been interested in younger men and you are having a semi-tough time with it. That is not a cougar.

If after this experience, you only prefer dating younger guys, because the older men don't interest you anymore, then yes you can consider yourself a potential cougar.

As to an age gap, at least 10 years generally meets the "requirements".

eh, to me a cougar would have to be at least 10 years older than me, and i'm 23. Also, cougars to me are the women who just have an attraction to younger guys.
