Default perv?

I think perhaps you might have meant lust after the guys in the supermarket? I don't consider anything about older women and younger men perverted. I am an honest and open woman and very realistic as most of the ladies and the guys already know. I don't think there is anything selfish in what you said as I myself have various bouts of exactly the same attitude. I do appreciate it though when a young man and I really hit if off and a relationship does happen regardless of it's length. The endless dating cycle can get a bit old, discouraging and frankly boring just as repetitive one night stands can be.

I agree houston. I don't see anything "pervy" about it either. It's perfectly natural to me. To ME it would seem pervy to go after some old, gray-haired, wrinkled dude! EWWWWWWWWWW!!! Now THAT'S perverted!!

To digress slightly...if the girls in the supermarket are checkout chicks, what do we call their male counterparts? I was talking to a really cute one last week, when doing my grocery shopping. I need to know how to classify who I am lusting after!

I think it might be a misunderstanding. People here and probably in the UK use the term perving to describe lusting after someone of any age. I'm sure that can be confirmed by other UK/Irish posters.

I have a crush on Paolo Nutini currently. But he's younger than I'd go, I think.
I agree a merry-go-round of lovers is not ideal to some but it is to me at this point in my life. Not endless numbers. Just a few or several for now.

I have a lot going on and I don't really need more commitments and hassle. That's just me, now. Subject to change at a much later date.

oh we have had a few misunderstands over the English language in it's American form and the Queen's. I guess you would call them cashiers here because that's what we call the people who ring you up at the register regardless of their sex. But now that I think about it I have seen some good looking guys at my neighborhood stores. Oh, and I watched your crush on You tube and he is quite sexy and I do date guys that young.

Zmenria, cool thread - always nice to see a thinking cub.

For me, I've always seemed to have mutual attraction with younger men - either tall/skinny or short/athletic, but younger. It started in hs with a one year age difference. Since then, I've dated guys anywhere from 8 to 20 years younger than me.
Generally speaking, I love the fact that younger men are still "interested" in life and the world around them. They're anxious to go new places and do new things, sometimes acting a little silly in the interest of having fun and enjoying life. They also seem to be more open/confident about sex. Don't get me wrong, I'm a LTR-type girl who likes the slightly nerdy/academic type. However, being able to laugh at one's self and in most situations is also critical to enjoying life. I find these qualities more often in younger men.

In Ireland and the UK its normal to use perv in that context, its light British Isle humour, a bit cheeky but in good spirit.
