see that kind of stuff all the time when I go out clubbing. My daughter's best friend has her septum, cheeks, nose, and the bridge of her nose pierced. She also has those things in her ears which are called plugs they use bigger and bigger sizes to make the holes bigger. She has a chest plate (tattoos across her breastbone) and a sleeve and both of her hands are tattooed on the knuckles. The weirdest thing though is that she is very pretty but she is extremely overweight and it's my belief that if she uses these other means of getting people's attention they will not notice how big she is. The more stuff she has done the bigger she gets which is not a coincidence. I have talked to her about this and she has admitted to doing these things because of self esteem issues and I have suggested counseling but you can't make someone seek help unless they are ready to. I was always very into the music scene and went through my glam rock stage and then my punk rock stage and believe me it turned people's heads and even caused mother's to grab their children and practically run away but it was "just a stage" for me. For many people it is just a way to stand out yet really stand in as into a certain crowd so that they feel a part of something. Different looking doesn't mean weird or mentally unstable or dangerous person it's just a person trying to find themselves.

I know it does not equate mental instability - I am just not desiring being around all these people who are trying to find themselves, especially when most are older than myself. I am a nature girl and I am missing being around simplicity and wholesomeness. Where when the sun goes down, so does activity. Where you dont hear people arguing through drunken stupor outside your balcony. New Orleans is a 24/7 club inside establishments and outside since you can bring your drinks out on the streets.

I am sick of walking home at night and inturpting some sexual act on the sidewalk or up against the wall. Of walking out in the morning to smears of vomit and urine in my doorway. One week someone actually was injured and bled all over the wall and it was there until the rain washed it away.

wow that sounds really bad. im sorry you have to go through that. im not a big fan of all the ruckus caused by drunken crowds, so i can see what you are going through

leonus I didn't get that but tarni that sounds like an excellent plan and as much as you love animals I am sure you will find great reward in it. I know that NOLA is a cesspool run by a bunch of crooks and it sounds like you have had just about enough.

and what i meant by the lights example, is that maybe someone thinks he is so perfect as for women to be falling down their knees for him, while on the other hands he cant see how much flawed he is ...
