Are much younger men more likely to go for older women?

What a great point. I never thought about that. I'm in my 40's and have a crush on a guy in his 30's. Even though I think he may be attracted to me, I think he prefers younger women. He makes comments on getting older. Bummer for me but can't change his mind. He's an intellectual so don't know what kind of mental stimulation he'll get. But, who knows.

For me, an age gap of about 25 years is no big deal.
After that, it gets complicated, socially at least.
There is a large group of people, including friends and family, that would cringe at the thought or sight or concept of something so extreme, and I know it would be met with disapproval if I were to announce to the world I was dating a 45+ year old.
I personally don't care. I have a 54 year old friend I've been pursuing since before I was legal.

LMAO FC! So true! ;-P My thoughts are that very young men (herein referred to as VYM) are, for the most part, seeking out cougars as a learning experience, while they wait for their little girls to grow up. This may be acceptable for some ladies who are only seeking something casual or temporary...why not have fresh meat? (sorry, it popped into my head from a thread on another site's forum...LOL)

Personally, I prefer the slightly more mature cub....in his 30's...because he is more often seeking a romantic long term relationship. By then, he's picked a path, and while he may not already be there, at least he knows where he's going and what he wants to achieve. He also has little reason of Freudian origin to influence his choices. Just my experience and preferences speaking. ^..^

At the end of the day we do say age is just a number were all living and should be able to date/sleep/marry whoever you like without questions

Agreed... though, I've been attracted to older women for as long as I've been attracted to women... I was very, very happy when I turned 18!

OMG this post is from May 2010, doesn't anyone look at when it was first written/posted? Then you can see when it was answered last. Obviously whoever brought this thread back never bother to read when it was started or the last entry B4 he/she decided to bring it back.

Perhaps people keep checking it out because of the subject matter.

There is a huge difference between very young men being attracted to older women and whether or not they would ever want to seriously date a much older woman. I think a lot of the interest is basically fantasy - exciting and sort of taboo etc but not something they want in real life. Too complicated, for one thing. And frankly for many - too embarrassing!
