I don't know the answer. So I guess that means I can make one up right? Haha! I just wanted to comment because I just love that word COUGARY!!!

But no, I do not think a few years age difference a cougar makes. My ex-husband is 5 years younger than me and I don't consider that "cougary" at all.

No, but if you were 19 and he were 14, that might feel a bit cougary On the other hand, I don't see the slightest thing cougary about someone my age (54) dating a 40 yr old. He's a grown man!

I love that word to *COUGARY*

I think to be a cougar you have to be at least 40+ and cubs should be 18 - 35. We all have our preferences in the ages we like and I have talked to a few 40yr olds that I would have considered going out with but considering I am 61 that is still 20+ years.

Smile Cougary

Cougary begins at the point you use some measure of cunning to secure the company of a younger man whether it be for that instant or a ltr.

Age has little to do with the act except that the tools in your toolbox are very different than those in a woman closer to the young mans age. My first experience with a vym was when I was 30. He was 19. He thought I was in my mid 20's and I did nothing to change his perception.

The encounter was physical and while not a one night stand was brief. Was this Cougary? I don't think so, we both got what we wanted based on a common interest, not cunning or ones ability to lure someone into a situation based on another - less obvious reason.

That isn't to say I'm not a cougar. I just didn't start that way.

Sorry, but I beg to differ. I have had MANY much younger guys pursue ME. And I still consider it "cougary" since I am much older than them. In fact my very first cub pursued me and that's what brought me "out" into the cougar world.

I agree with WW too...there's no cunning here!!! I am always the one being pursued...and because I am much older, I still call it cougary too...and love that word..
