If there's something I've noticed over the years is that guys (and some women too) don't commit when they find the "ideal person", but when it's the right/ideal time for them. It's all about timing.

I refuse to believe that guys running scared is totally because of abandonment issues they had since they were children. The guys who are afraid of losing control can't see it as sharing control, and that's probably where alot of the running scared comes in, even the commitment issues could come from that. Or maybe they just aren't ready.

We're all human, noone said we do things for logical reasons anyway!

How does being a heartless, manipulative ***** help anyone be happy? I'm guessing you've had some terrible luck, but last time I checked most guys I know aren't evil incarnate, and a lot of my male friends and my fiance seem all right with treating women with respect. Men are people too, you know. Sometimes people do incredibly stupid things, and sometimes people can be cruel and manipulative, but we're all human.
