Researching and Finding out about people is cool and everything but I like to let people tell me what they want me to know and If they trust me enough to tell me everything.Looking someone up is kind of scary and especially if you with someone its kind of untrustoworthy.

reading through, a few of you have the basic jist of the situation,

it is about faith that who you are speaking to is who they rally say they are.

i think any doubts you have can only be quelled when you arrange that first meeting.

does'nt even have to be face to face, i think its much safer to say

" i'm going to be here at *said time* for an hour or so "

just walk by and check em out, if you like then you can say hi. if not then you can carry on walking

I personally wouldn't care to set up any offline meeting until I've seen the guy face to face via cam, and talked via microphone or telephone. IF we hit it off well enough, then we can arrange a face-to-face in public to share a coffee and a bit of conversation.

Standing around in a public place for mutual anonymous "cruising" is degrading - seems more like a gay bathhouse scene! It's also an enormous waste of time.

Just my opinion, but I'm willing to bet many women would agree with me.

I am of the opinion that meeting anyone off the Internet,whether its a Cougar or Cub, its always better to err on the side of caution. If the person that you are meeting doesn't respect that then the only course of action is to say thanks, but no thanks.

sorry kaufman but no way in hell am I going to go stand like a piece of meat on a shelf someplace so a guy can cruise by to see if he wants to stop and talk to me! I will talk online and on the phone and then agree to meet in a public place for a real life CONVERSATION. If he should happen to think I'm not his type then he can politely cut the conversation short and get the hell out of dodge the same thing I will do if I happen to think he is not my type. If he is from someplace far away wellllll that's a whole other story.

As for 'cruising', it does not appeal to me. You always get the impression from what is reported that its only girls who get lied to online - no, us guys have to be just as careful.

I have met a few people from online, not from here, for friendships mainly and have always spoke to them on the phone and via webcam first. Its just sensible. We're all adults, aren't we? Nothing wrong with acting like one!
