Some Tips for the Newbies - GoCougar Forums - The Hunting Ground for Cougars Seeking Cubs

I have not been on this site very long myself but I remember when I first joined I found it very confusing to navigate. So I thought I would share a few things I have learned with the newer people in hopes it may help someone.

OK, first of all if you want to add a pic here, edit your signature, add your location, change your avatar or probably lots of other stuff I still don't know about....go to the toolbar at the top of this page and under Quick Links go to User Control Panel. When you get there, there are lots of options in the menu on the left side or you can scroll down the page and there are more options.

Secondly, and it took me a LONG time to figure this one out....we all have TWO profiles on the site IF you are signed up on "the other side" of this site. For some reason the forums on this site are separate from the main side. So if you want to see someone's profile with more details and pics than what shows up here, click the link at the top of the page that says Return to gocougar Main Site and once there search by the person's username. That only works though if they are using the SAME username on both sides, which not everyone does.

Anyway, like I said, hope this helps someone! Have a great day all!

P.S. - Almost forgot - if someone says they've sent you a friend request and you can't find it, it might be on this side OR it might be on the main side. On the main side, click on Friends (left menu) and once there click on Requests at the top. This site is not very user-friendly.

Anyone who wants access to the womens or the mens forum can pm me. You do have to have posting history on the forums or the blogs, however, because I have to have some way to make sure that you are legit.

I have been working on my own web site (not for dating) and I can't imagine why this is set up like it is. I have a forum on mine and you have to go to it through a link but you don't change who you are or the information about you wouldn't change there, etc.. That's just strange! I also don't get why on the main home page when you log on it says "The most recent visitors to your profile" or something but it's not a link to that information. To see who visited, you go to the sidebar under Visitors.

The other thing I have NOT figured out is how to tell who is online. I know there's a way to do it because when I sign on at times I get several IMs from guys. So they know I'm on. But I don't see where to look at who is on. Anyone know? Thanks.
