goCougar Community Rules

goCougar wants everyone to make the most of the blogs and the "Hunting Ground"(the forum). We want you to enjoy posting and talking to other members. By following the rules below, you will help everyone else here do the same.

Moderators and Administrators Have the Final Word

If you have a problem or a complaint, direct it to the administrators and/or moderators, do not post complaints in the forum/blogs as this is not an appropriate place to discuss conflicts. The appropriate actions will be taken by one of our administrators or moderators. We reserve the right to ban flagrant offenders when deemed necessary, with or without prior warning. All decisions are final and not open to further discussion or any form of public protest in our forum or on any other part of goCougar.com.

The RULES

By using our forum and blog system you agree not to:

1. Make any personal attacks against other members or insult them.

2. Use language which is abusive towards other members or groups of people. This is an adult site and members are likely to want to discuss adult themes. This, and controversial and heated debate is fine, so long as language is not used to be abusive towards anyone.

3. Use your posts/blogs to break laws in your country or international law or the laws in the country where this site is registered. goCougar is not responsible for anything you write and your opinions remain your property.

4. Make forum/blog posts which deliberately provoke aggressive or anti-social responses from other members.

5. Make forum/blog posts which are designed to disrupt the flow of the forums/blogs in an anti-social way.

6. Mention anyone else’s personal history in blog/forum posts - that’s for them to choose to do, if they wish.

7. Use blog/forum posts to advertise yourself or any services you’re involved with. If in doubt, ask a moderator before posting.

8. Post the same message or thread more than once. If you’re not sure where your post should go, ask for support from the moderators.

9. Set up and use multiple profiles for the blog or forum. If you forget your password you can ask for a reminder using the link on the login page. If you have problems, please contact us for help rather than setting up another profile.

You agree to:

10. Show respect for all other members by being tolerant of the opinions of others, even if you don’t agree with them.

11. Raise any concerns you may have about individuals using the blogs and/or the forums in private with moderators/administrators. Do not attempt to publicly humiliate someone, including moderators and administrators.

12. Post on topic in threads or blogs.

13. Use your profile signature sensibly. You will not use it to directly or indirectly attack a member or members or to start or continue public disagreements or feuds. A typical signature contains the poster's name, goCougar username, and a favourite quote or saying. Font sizes which are too large (more than 2 (12pt) ) are not allowed.

What will happen if YOU BREAK any of these RULES?

1. A forum post or blog entry/comment which breaks the rules will usually be removed. A deleted forum post will be accompanied by an explanation. A blog post/comment will be deleted without any explanation as there is no mechanism to do so. If you misues your “signature” we may take away your right to have one and your signature will be edited or removed without warning.

2. Someone “spamming” the boards with adverts will be removed from the site along with their posts without warning.

3. Sometimes, we may close threads or delete blogs if we believe it’s for the good of everyone. We may only be able to give a general explanation or, more rarely, no explanation at all.

4. Moderators will use a points system in order to make decisions about suspensions and the banning of members. goCougar believes that all of us make minor mistakes now and again. We want members to learn from their mistakes and not repeat them. You will have any mistake you make explained to you each time and are likely to receive a warning for it. Please take these warnings seriously if you want to remain here. Several warnings may result in you being suspended and/or banned permanently.

5. Warnings - Each time you break one of the forum rules, you will receive a warning. Each warning is worth 10 points (except breaking the signature rule which is worth 5 points). If you receive 100 points you will automatically be banned from using the forums. If it's a one-off serious rule violation, you may receive an immediate suspension from the blogs and/or forums for a period of time or a complete ban from using the blogs and/or forums and/or the site. 10 points will be received along with a warning for: personal abuse and/or insults, abusive language towards other members or groups of people, aggression and consistent anti-social behaviour, 5 points will be received for breaking the signature rule.

6. Being Banned - A regular poster may be banned either because they have received 100 points or because they have seriously violated the rules. In this situation, moderators will take the recommendation to the site administrators whose decision will be final. This will help avoid any unfairness or bias creeping into decisions.

7. We cannot discuss other members with you either in private or public. If you report forum/blog posts we will consider what action, if any, should be taken and may not always be able to tell you what we've done.

8. The owners of goCougar reserve the right to remove, edit, or delete any content in the forums or blogs or member profiles without warning or explanation.

If you do not agree with these rules or do not think you can follow them, please do not use the blogs or forums.

The above rules have been drafted specifically to manage our blogs and forum, they supplement our general*Terms of service*(TOS).
