Is it even worth trying?

I am 20 years old, and I'd like to date women between 25-35 years of age...but everytime I talk to one or try to flirt they are either:

A. Married or dating
B. "Too old" or say I'm "too young".

I begin to wonder...that's life...is it even worth trying if I already know the result?

I don't usually reply to posts but I had to laugh at a 25 year old telling you that you are to young. As far as I am concerned that's a crock of you know what. I could see a 35 year old woman thinking a 15 year age difference might be to much but 5 to 10 no way! I have dated guys with an age difference of 34 years but that's just me. I don't really consider anyone under the age of oh say 35 a cougar unless she's dating someone between 18 and 25. When I was 25 to 45 I had never heard the term cougar and met most guys I knew just being out in public. I look younger than I am and when I was 25 I looked about 14 so I can't imagine why a woman of 25 to 35 would even need to be on a dating site to attract younger men. I often find it hard to tell ages between 21 and 35 unless the person has a real baby face. Perhaps they might have a different reason and are just saying you are to young. Maybe you could get an impartial person to view and critique your profile and pictures sometimes people blow it that way and they don't realize it themselves since they can't be objective. I presume the women you are trying to talk to or flirt with are out in the real world.

What you have to do is differentiate between the older women and the cougars. While all cougars tend to be older women, not all older women are cougars.

You might have to do a bit of research to find out where the cougars are likely to appear. If you have the inclination to hit the bars, you can always try to google "cougar bars <location>", just replace <location> with your town or nearby city.

If you're in the US, go to urbancougar.com and search for places in your area. Unfortunately that site only lists US locations, so I have to do a bit more research.

I came across a few names of bars that the cougars might prowl in my city here, but I'm not the sort who prefers to go to bars.


What we need is an online resource for those who don't want to have to go to bars to find a cougar. A database that not only lists bars/pubs, but shops, events, parks, libraries, flea markets, etc. That the cougar prowls. In particular locations that are submitted by actual users about where they may be hunted
