meeting cougars at bars.

Hello! How is everyone doing this evening?

I wanted to seek some input on how to approach cougars at bars. I had joined this site to talk to people about this phenomenon. However, I am a young guy in my early twenties,(21 to be exact) and I always find myself going to bars that are Labeled as "cougar spots".

I have a huge attraction to older women and haven't really been successful yet. Often times I find myself going into bars and not evening "stepping up to the plate". In the times that I have put myself out there I haven't been so successful. One time I had a women yell "what do you want to hang out with my 25 year old son"! It was brutal, and all I said was hello. Moments like this one has shaken my confidence a little bit!

When I go to a bar I find that women find it so obvious that you are hitting on them and don't seem to want to be bothered. Any advice so that I can meet some cougars worth my time?

Well, Cal, depends... bars aren't exactly the best place to start a relationship. Is that what you're looking for?

to be honest... I am keeping my options open, but I wouldn't be disappointed with a "friends with benefits" type of thing.

also... The majority of the potentially single attractive older women I notice happen to be in bars. It seems like the best place to me? Even though it may not be the best place to start a relationship.

Art Workshops, Lectures. Book Clubs. At the most for conversation.

If for a hook up. Bars.. I go alone and enjoy.. I have been hit on agressively by a couple of younger men. I have had very artful conversations at galleries and artist's receptions.

Excellent suggestions, Cath.....and I'd like to add a few....

The grocery store (especially the "boutique" type of stores like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods)....ask for advice in the wine or produce sections.

Do you have a dog? Or do you like to walk, run or bike? Try your local parks or biking paths.

Jazz clubs.....LOTS of older women sans the whorish stereotypical mini-skirt and martini-weaving.

At the gas pump....Yeah, so a lot of them are in a hurry to get to where they're going, but you already know what kind of car they drive and how they look outside of a date.

A decent department store....you'll know they aren't broke sistahs if they're shopping at Bloomies! LOL I am kidding of course.
