This happens with men too. I need a how to survive internet dating book! I'm too naive to be doing this.

I've had men open a chat with me only to immediately ask me if I have skype and a webcam or yahoo IM etc...

I just want to find a boyfriend! How do you weed out the creeps?!?!?

I think the best thing of all is that out of all the sexually tempting names she could've come up with she went with golflover, must have been a really close tie with worldknittingchampion and chesslegend2010.

I think there are just some simple rules you should stick to in the meantime

If something is too good to be true it probably is.
Always err on the side of caution.
If you think you are getting scammed you can block or report them.

The passage below is from the FAQ of forum usage.

Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?

If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:

Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, type their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'.

What if I see something offensive?

You will find 'Report' links in many places throughout the board. These links allow you to alert the board staff to anything which you find to be offensive, objectionable or illegal.
