Date or no date?

if it is not declared between the people, is it just hanging out? if two people meet on the internet, flirt a lot and then meet up, is that a date?

My definition of a date is a meeting set for a certain time between 2 people or more. Doesn't matter if you met on the internet or in the grocery aisle.
