I guess at first might be a cup of coffee after work at 6 o'clock by this way if both of them are not attracted to each other there is always will be a chance to run away and both of them will be tolerable on that.
I think at first date for a cup of coffee nice clothes which are not that pretentions might be nice by this way u don't have to worry about what do I have to wear for the next meeting. With your fancy suits at your second date in a restaurant u can make a difference
Well About the payment I prefer to pay always but recently one of my italian friend said that she was not so comfortable with her boyfriend about the discussion who have to pay. It depends on the person, if she will feel better to share it I don't mind but my preference is man to pay the check
