Advice of logic

I've always been told to not talk about religion and politics but I just bring them up to get them out of the way. It depends what you want from the date, if its a one night stand don't ask anything that cant be answered with yes or no. But if its someone you like try to ask them anything that will ruin your opinion of them because your going to find it out sooner or later and if the result is they still stick, then success. This has been a public service announcement.

Well I was brought up in an Irish Catholic family and went to Catholic school, but I'm personally not religious. That being said I don't care what others believe, as long as they don't try to change my opinions or beliefs. It helps to find out what someone else's views are on politics and religion, but don't try to debate them. I actually dated a Catholic girl for a while, and I even went to mass with her (even though I'm completely opposed to religion in general) out of respect. I hope this helps...

don't go to church but am a very spiritual person. I was also raised Catholic in an Irish, French and Polish household. lol Triple Catholic threat there. I also had my daughter baptized Catholic (just in case). It's something about that faction of guilt that has been drilled into me. I don't really get into politics or religion with people because they always try and persuade me to their "side" which is what bothers me not that they have different beliefs than I do.

Well, I'm not on my deathbed yet, but when I am, I'm sure I'll think the same way I do now...

Anyway, the "rule" against talking about religion and politics isn't absolute: it's not recommended when you first meet someone - and never for people you do business with.
