Default National Scottish newspaper looking for cougars!

Hi everyone
I hope you don't mind me posting on here! I'm a freelance journalist and I'm writing a feature for a national Scottish newspaper on cougars who are dating toyboys.
We are looking for a couple of case studies..so if you would be willing to do a brief phone interview and have your picture taken, please send me a private message and I can give you more details.
Thanks so much for your time
Karen

I wish the media would get over the idea that older women dating younger men is somehow titillating and slightly scandalous, and simply accept it as another permutation in the myriad of relationship options out there. The fact that you use words like "toyboy" implies you have already decided on your slant for the story, and frankly, that particular term is derogatory towards men in general.

And are you writing a companion piece about old farts dating sweet young girls? If not, why not? It's simply another side of the same coin. As a female journalist, it would be nice if you wrote your story from the feminine perspective - i.e exactly why do older women find younger men more attractive than men of their own age (and a small hint; it's not sex alone) - instead of taking the common masculine, patriarchal perspective, which seeks to demean the people who prefer this particular dating dynamic. and present them as two-dimensional caricatures.

Hi redfyre, thanks so much for getting back to me.
To be honest, no the feature won't be taking a steretypical slant, and to be honest I don't mean offence when I use terms such as toyboy.
I'd like to talk to some real women out there and find out why their relationship with a younger man works, why it's more successful, etc than dating a man their own age, what attracts them to younger men..I don't have a slant at the moment, the piece will be a small introduction then go into the stories of women who date younger men. If you would be willing to talk to me, that would be fantastic. Though I understand if you would rather not. Thanks so much for your time, Karen

Karen, I know you meant no offense, but that term "toyboy" made me wince too. Just my personal opinion, but if you're going to take a NON-stereotypical slant, then it might be best to steer away from the stereotypical terminology.

Best of luck with your piece.
