The growth of internet communications has finally led to the point where the silent majority suddenly find they have a voice and they are prepared to use it through the safety of numbers. Tunisians and Egyptians both co-ordinated their protests via facebook and the world knew what was happening in real time at a personal level through instant messenger conversations with those in other countries not just via sanitised news services. Ruling minorities find that difficult to deal with, those who embrace the change and treat all their citizens with respect will adapt peacefully. Those who fight it will eventually be overthrown.

Indeed...Twitter and Facebook have a huge impact on reaching a vast amount of people very quickly with all kinds of injustice....I have huge respect for ordinary people who fight tirelessly against tyranny. Big institutions should never underestimate the little people and the desire to be heard. I hope injuries and fatalities remain at an absolute minimum.....

It's happening here too, just look at what is happening in Wisconsin the people are up against the governor and his trying to take away their bargaining power

We need a common goal...too many states and jurisdictions, some give some take, it has to be something that would unite all of the people

It's about time they started helping themselves, imo. They've been depending on the US and UK for way too long. It's good that they're finally waking up and doing things for themselves. I will say however that they should be strictly monitored by all interested parties just in case they decide to be ignorant like the fascists that they replace.
