Default WikiLeaks

With all the media attention about WikiLeaks, I started wondering about the founder of the site.

Question:

What would you call WikiLeaks owner and founder, Julian Assange?

1. an anarchist
2. a traitor
3. a good journalist
4. a whistleblower
5. a hero
6. a criminal

7. An arrogant fool.

The things he leaks may be true, but other than cause a lot of drama, and possible damage, what good does it do?

^^this! Couldn't agree any less. Ofco**** its always good to know the truth on what is going on, but some of this information can have really bad concequences. He's a clever guy, but I think its foolish to release certain things to the public like he did.

The right to know shouldn't interfere with ones ability to maintain safety to diplomatic relations.

What worries me is why the US Government is so afraid of this information.
Our government does have secrets and should have secrets.
And yes it is not nice that one person in power called another "Weak and Spineless" but I only ask why is our govenmet telling all of its employees that thay are not allowed to download or read any of that information of they will lose thier jobs.

Now that Assange has been arrested in London, I wonder how long the UK can hold him. He may be extradited to Sweden. Supposedly, Assange wasn't arrested for his leaking of secret U.S. government information, but rather for charges that he raped a woman.

Many people in the world seem to be supportive of Assange and his journalistic freedom.

I wonder where the line between freedom of speech and criminal behavior is in this situation.

He is outside the United State and not a US citizen therefore his freedom of speech is not protected.

As far as others... It seem the USA and not well liked by other countries. We have a difference different way of life that others see as a threat. Also the fact that we were powerful also feeds the David and Goliath factor.

It seems we have to build a very strong cage around us in order to be "free".
I love the USA and all that our country stands for but it is run by people.
People are not perfect, they are flawed, greedy and make mistakes.
If we are never allowed to look at our mistakes how can we work at improving ourselves?
The information is out there.
Let us all learn from our mistakes.

What are the mistakes to which you are referring? I'm a bit confused.
