Good questions there Tiffany. I have to say for me at this point, a man that shows up for the date is the best occupation for me! Seriously, since I'm in the finance/tax field I do find much in common with someone that has some type of background in that. Be it they're in finance or a business owner and it could be any type of business since I work with all types. There is plenty to discuss with that in common and usually not much of those long silences during the date that sometimes happens. After that it really does come down to the chemistry, doesn't it? My deceased husband was a blue collar worker and I a white collar, management. You don't think after 22 years we had some very heated discussions! whew. He could never see my point of view, but me growing up as a autoworker / farmers ancestory I knew where he was coming from but he didn't get that I understood and wasn't the devil! |

I've always dated and had relationships with the creative type....musicians mostly....a sort of comfort zone for me considering my childhood environment. But now I'm starting to wonder what fire is smoldering behind the icy exterior of an IRS agent, with his typically stiff appearance...a bumbling Clark Kent if you will. Laugh if you must, but I KNOW one like this! LOL

Because of the economy, there are a lot of men I meet who call themselves consultants or independent contractors which I've come to realize means they have no job. I've learned to be more tolerant, lately, when it comes to dating a man who is "between jobs." That is if they're actively looking for work and are not just content to live on unemployment and find a cougar to take care of them.

My biggest requirement is that they need to be able to carry on an interesting conversation. I have no interest in listening to someone recite sports statistics but I enjoy talking about fitness. I am attracted to the brain as well as the body. Self centered men are a turn off and if they do not have a well rounded background I really have no interest in trying to figure them out. Men in the education field may be on the top of my list. I suffered thru a few dates with Lawyers, I guess they are on the bottom of my list. Last edited by lady_emerson; 11-08-2010 at 11:55 AM. |

Multi-talented people who surprise me is what I find sexy. We had this young man come in to fix our Point of sale computer system. (I manage a restaurant) While he was waiting for me to finish what I was doing he sat down at the piano and started to play and sing "Piano Man" just beautifully. He then worked on the main computer and had it back up and running quickly and was so funny to listen to the entire time he was working on it. Smart, funny and talented young man.
