One time, I had the good fortune to be invited to a VIP club in Vegas. Ended up sitting at Donny Walhberg's (however you spell it) table. Shame I don't drink though lol.
Also, back in 2002. I was driving way to fast (120 in a 70) trying to go home before going overseas. (From AZ to CA). But, I wore my uniform as I traveled and when the Highway Patrol pulled me over, they just asked me to slow down for a few miles lol.
So yeah, it really warms my heart to see patriotism alive today. Some places i've been, overseas, we are hated. I wore a Marine Corps jacket in Scotland, and someone threw a drink at me. Some cab driver in Yorkshire England blamed me for nuking Nagasaki(******ed)...
People tried picking my pockets in France for the Normandy Anniversary. Kuwait, I was treated like a 2nd class person. Iraq they tried to kill me. (though, they are a lot nicer then the Kuwaities) go figure.
I've seen people die, had friends blown up and others shot and when I see a Vietnam, Korea, WWII, Desert Storm Vet...I personally go up, shake their hands and thank them. Never tell em I'm military, Just want them to know that they haven't been forgotten.
Damn, look at me on my soapbox.
Sorry everyone.
