Question PUBLIC VOTE - Allow Members to Close Their Own Threads?

Many of you will be aware of the fierce debate taking place between members of the forum regarding the issue of allowing the author of a thread to close it and therefore cutting off any further discussion - essentially having the last word!

One such debate can be seen in the following thread:

Oh Really

The vast majority of forums do not allow threads to be closed by members. By allowing it, we have unwittingly created an additional burden on moderators, who are challenged for closing seemingly innocusous threads.

As every member seems to have a different viewpoint on this subject, we have decided to put it to a public vote. Please vote Yes or No using the poll above.
