Yes Lynda, I think many female newcomers just don't realize what's in store for them, so that was the point of this thread: not to discourage or scare anyone away, but to help a woman feel a little more prepared when the inevitable occurs!
I would suggest to any woman who is getting to know guys through online dating sites to *place absolutely NO importance* on what a guy tells you, if it is in direct contradiction to his actions! If he tells you you're important but doesn't maintain regular contact, if he says he'll do something and then doesn't, etc., make your decisions based on what he DOES/DOES NOT do!
